A book regarding my career was never in my thoughts until a contact from Barrie Pierpoint and Matthew Mann at Morgan Lawrence.

It was only after a few meetings later down the line that the book became a reality and latterly how humbled I have been by them both in producing a book for myself but more importantly my family, as a legacy for them, of my football years.

Their attention to detail is remarkable and Matthews ability to put into words, how I actually felt when recalling certain memories, in which I would no doubt have lost those moments had it not been for his patience, the cajouling and background work he did on my behalf.

Over the years, a lot of people have asked me if I’d thought about writing a book, but I didn’t know where to start. It was only when I met Mathew in 2019 that I understood how easy the process could be, and when we went into lockdown, I thought why not.

When I was asked by writer John Brindley if I would be interested in bringing out a book about my football life  I thought, why not. I’ve had a successful career, not only as a player, but also as a football manager.

Uplifting Experience!

I was so appreciative that Mathew Mann of Morgan Lawrence Publishing Services was so responsive and encouraging in deciding to publish my mother’s memoirs. I had been hesitant to ask as it was a personal dream for me. My initial contact with Mathew Mann has been about my own memoirs as a Reality TV Star after appearing in Big Brother 2001. The whole process was so professional at every stage resulting in a stunning book I can present at my mothers 80th in front of family travelling from Japan, Asia, Germany and Canada.
